Classical Chinese Strategy: Have you ever wanted to conquer an empire? Enter into the world of Sunzi’s Art of War, where the rival kings of classical China battle for supremacy. In this course we analyze the Art of War and other texts from the Warring States period (5th-3rd centuries BCE) to understand the development of warfare, the art of rhetoric, and the ethical codes and practical strategies of politics. And we’ll play a simple multi-player game that will test your ability to practice classical Chinese strategy and the persuasive arts. Can you conquer all of China? Your throne awaits.
