This course aims to familiarize students with current terminology, theory, literature, trends, and techniques related to dog training with a focus on application on campus. In addition to classroom study, assigned readings, and a training plan project, students will work in small groups to practice leading canine husbandry, welfare management, handling, and behavior modification sessions with Orlo and Murray while receiving peer and professor feedback. Additionally, students will complete an assignment in which they design a husbandry or behavioral intervention for another dog in their lives.
